Infinity Testing Solutions Inc. is an independent engineering testing laboratory located in Mississauga, Ontario. We provide specialized testing services including mechanical and structural testing, pressure testing, vibration and environmental testing, and custom test equipment development.
We work with clients across a wide range of industries, including aerospace, nuclear, military, semiconductor, automotive, industrial, and other high-performance sectors. Our team supports customers through hands-on testing, technical problem-solving, data collection, test documentation, and the development of reliable, customized testing solutions.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to hire two Test Technologists to join our team. This is a hands-on technical role suited for individuals who enjoy mechanical work, problem-solving, testing, troubleshooting, and working in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided.
Position Summary
The Test Technologist will support the setup, execution, monitoring, and documentation of various structural, pressure, vibration, environmental, and custom testing projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with customers and other technologists to prepare test samples, assemble test fixtures, install mechanical and hydraulic components, operate lab equipment, collect data, document observations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure work is completed safely and accurately.
This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
The Test Technologist will be responsible for:
Managing and supporting assigned testing projects from preparation through completion.
Setting up mechanical, structural, hydraulic, pressure, vibration, and custom test configurations.
Preparing test samples, components, fixtures, and equipment for testing.
Installing and connecting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical components as required.
Operating laboratory equipment, hand tools, power tools, measuring tools, and test equipment safely and effectively.
Performing inspections before, during, and after testing.
Monitoring tests, recording observations, maintaining test logs, and identifying unusual conditions.
Collecting, reviewing, and organizing test data for reporting purposes.
Assisting with the analysis of test results and documenting findings clearly and accurately.
Reading and interpreting drawings, diagrams, schematics, technical instructions, test procedures, and customer requirements.
Assisting with the assembly, modification, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of lab machinery, test fixtures, and equipment.
Performing routine checks and preventive maintenance on laboratory tools, machinery, and test systems.
Supporting custom test setup development and fixture builds as needed.
Communicating professionally with customers when required.
Following internal procedures, quality requirements, and applicable safety standards.
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Supporting shipping, receiving, loading, unloading, and material movement when needed.
Operating a forklift if trained and authorized.
Completing tasks individually or collaboratively depending on project requirements.
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
Engineering Technologist Degree with a minimum of 1 years experience.
Hands-on mechanical aptitude and experience working with tools, machinery, equipment, or test setups.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, calipers, measuring instruments, and general shop/lab equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, diagrams, procedures, and written instructions.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical or equipment-related issues.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when recording data and observations.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work safely in a hands-on laboratory, shop, or industrial environment.
Ability to lift, move, position, and handle components safely as required.
Ability to follow established procedures and work instructions.
Willingness to learn new testing methods, equipment, and internal processes.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are considered assets:
Previous experience in a testing laboratory, engineering lab, manufacturing, machine shop, maintenance, hydraulics, automation, or industrial environment.
Experience with mechanical testing, pressure testing, vibration testing, environmental testing, fatigue testing, or product validation.
Experience working with hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, actuators, pumps, valves, fittings, pressure lines, and related components.
Experience with basic electrical wiring, sensors, instrumentation, or data acquisition systems.
Experience using precision measurement tools.
Experience with welding, fabrication, machining, or fixture assembly.
Forklift certification or previous forklift operating experience.
Knowledge of ISO 17025, quality systems, calibration, controlled documentation, or laboratory procedures.
Experience working in regulated or high-reliability industries such as aerospace, nuclear, military, automotive, semiconductor, or industrial equipment.
Working Conditions
This is an in-person role performed in a laboratory, shop, and testing environment.
The role may involve standing, walking, bending, lifting, using tools, handling test samples, and working around machinery or active test setups.
The successful candidate must follow all company health and safety rules, wear required personal protective equipment and participate in required safety training.
