Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Piano Teacher to inspire students through engaging music education. The ideal candidate will have a background in teaching music, experience working with children, and a genuine enthusiasm for fostering creativity and musical skills. This role involves designing and delivering age-appropriate private and group lessons, sending lesson notes, communicating with parents and studio staff , and being a team player to foster a positive learning environment for everyone. - Be confident managing groups of up to 8 students.
- Be able to learn and confidently deliver our structured group curriculum.
- Bring energy, creativity, and enthusiasm to every class.
- Be reliable, organized, and eager to learn and grow as a teacher.
Responsibilities
- Develop private music lesson plans tailored to students’ age and skill levels
- Teach various musical concepts following the curriculum and incorporating activities tailored to the student
- Keeping the student(s) engaged throughout the year
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback through weekly lesson notes
- Prepare students for performances, recitals, or examinations as appropriate
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
- Collaborate with parents and staff to support student development and address individual needs
Requirements
- Music degree or completion of RCM level 8 exams is a requirement
- Experience working with children in various settings
- Previous teaching experience with students is an asset
- Previous experience teaching RCM exams is a big asset
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage young students effectively
- Ability to teach guitar, drums or voice is an asset
- Ability to confidently teach and follow our structured group lesson curriculum. Training and lesson plans are provided.
- Ability to create fun, interactive private lessons that cater to diverse learning styles
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to take direction and learn from lead instructors and other studio staff
- Can clearly follow studio protocol and schedules as outlined during training
