Position Summary
-
The Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Operator inspects all sewer and storm line construction/maintenance projects to ensure that the work conforms to applicable and current federal, state, and local regulations and statutes.

The CCTV Operator also maintains and operates the mobile sewer TV Inspection system and conducts internal TV inspections of existing and new sewer collection mains.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-
Apply expert knowledge of all water/sanitary/storm utility regulations necessary to recognizing errors in construction and maintenance projects and recommend solutions to manage these deficiencies.

Troubleshoots and diagnoses repairs to system infrastructure using leak detection equipment and Closed Circuit Television equipment.

Codes and stores all televised footage using NASCO PACP/MACP/LACP coding format.

Maintains an infrastructure database within the software forum, which will be shared with the departments for future projects.

Quality checks line cleaning activities to ensure proper cleaning of infrastructure.

Televise PreCleaned lines to provide cleaning direction for line cleaning crews.

Supervise a small crew in the absence of a supervisor in a manner that is consistent with established operating procedures and the supervisor’s goals and directions.

Utilize current versions of computer software and hardware provided to create user friendly spreadsheets, databases, letters, reports, and other documents that are clear, accurate, and grammatically correct

Communicate effectively with peers, customers, and city entities so that messages and directions regarding water and sewer line construction projects and inspections are clearly understood by all parties involved.

Ensure that established safety procedures are carried out.

Smoke testing of manholes.
-
Televising sewer mains and sewer laterals using various coding systems.

Installation of manhole to manhole cured in place pipe (CIPP).

Quality control inspections of collection system manholes.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Understanding of the operation and care of department tools

Technical ability to use GIS and computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to complete and track work orders

Ability to use robotic closed circuit camera system and robotic valve exercising equipment

Review and understand project plans and system maps so that tasks are completed with detail and accuracy

Understanding and strict adherence to safety policies and industry safety standards

Skill Requirements:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY:

Safely operate equipment in municipal and industrial setting

Maintain detailed, accurate transportation documentation to accompany work performed

Professionally represent Dambro Environmental Inc. and provide exceptional service to all clients

Complete daily equipment pre-trips and logs required for safety and service schedules

Participate in Dambro Environmental Inc. safety programs including: safety meetings, last-minute risk assessments and job hazard assessments
Experience and requirement: Previous experience in Municipal and Industrial setting as a CCTV Operator/Assistant.
Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Driver's validity license check
Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Ability to distinguish between colours, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling.
Work Site Environment: Dangerous, Noisy, Odours
Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence, Own vehicle.
