REQUIREMENTS:
- 1+ year hands-on experience working with both saltwater and freshwater aquarium systems (public aquarium, zoo, aquaculture facility, or similar).
- Strong experience in water quality testing and analysis, including pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, salinity, and temperature.
- Experience maintaining aquarium life-support systems, including filtration, pumps, heaters, chillers, and lighting.
- Valid Open Water SCUBA certification (PADI or equivalent).
- Experience performing underwater work, including cleaning and maintaining deep aquarium tanks safely and effectively.
- Ability to identify signs of fish stress or illness, troubleshoot issues, and follow basic treatment or escalation protocols.
- Experience with fish and marine invertebrates feeding feeding, food handling, preparation, and nutrition.
- Knowledge of marine and freshwater fish and invertebrates.
- Strong problem-solving, observation, and record-keeping skills.
- Relevant degree is an asset but not required.
Working Conditions:
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg.
- Comfortable working in wet, physical environments, including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and working in aquarium support areas.
- Must be able to safely perform underwater tasks following established safety protocols.
