Job Purpose
The Training Officer (TO) supports the Cascadia Credit Union’s (CCU) People & Culture (P&C) team with training support, ensuring onboarding and core training are maintained, supports training projects, and aids in ad hoc P&C projects while adhering to security, privacy, risk, and compliance policies and procedures.
As a member of the People & Culture team, the TO plays an essential role in aiding and supporting all staff members through member service experience while fostering relationships with their positive attitude and keen knowledge.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
· Fosters relationships through service excellence and knowledge to support staff,
· Aids the VP, People & Culture (VPPC) to maintain corporate P&C strategies and policies and helps identify and meet short and long-term objectives,
· Administers and maintains employee training documentation and systems, including meeting all deadlines of any prescribed updates,
· Designs, develops, and maintains engaging and effective training materials aligned with core organization needs including onboarding, leadership development, and culture initiatives,
· Assesses training needs and identifies evolving learning requirements across departments to support continuous development,
· Designs and delivers workplace conduct and culture training focused on respect, inclusion, psychological safety, and effective communication,
· Partners with department leaders to support training initiatives, providing guidance and frameworks while ensuring departments retain ownership of role-specific and specialized training,
· Guides departments in developing role-specific training, ensuring alignment with organizational standards,
· Establishes and maintains training standards and frameworks across the organization,
· Assists with ad hoc P&C projects to support the People & Culture team, contributing to overall team success,
· Positively and comfortably responds to staff requests and inquiries, and deals with contentious issues with minimal assistance,
· Performs administrative P&C tasks as required, including maintaining a variety of records and personnel files,
· Encourages teamwork and collaboration to accomplish common goals,
· Main liaison with Canadian Credit Union Association for training objectives, registrations, and proctoring,
· Responsible for ensuring employee compliance with P&C policies,
· Displays confidence and exercises sound judgement in decision making, and demonstrates a high level of risk management knowledge and ensures adherence to all policies and procedures, legislative and regulatory requirements, to mitigate risk of loss to CCU,
· Assists with P&C functions including recruiting, learning and development, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee relations, and statutory compliance, as required,
· Supports staff and encourages collaboration to accomplish common goals,
· Performs additional responsibilities aligned with team goals as assigned.

Qualifications
· Secondary school diploma
· Minimum one (1) year computer-based training experience
· Minimum two (2) years’ education or HR experience or training experience
· Combined experience and post-secondary education in the areas that are directly related to industry will be considered
· Successful completion of in-house training and other courses as required
Pay: $56,029.21-$74,705.61 per year
