Western Heights Montessori Academy is looking for a Supervisor to join our team in our Mississauga campus. Voted as one of the best Montessori schools in the region, we are a community of Montessori schools across Mississauga, Oakville and Burlington. We are looking for a Supervisor who is willing to push the growth of the school forward with self-initiative and passion for success. Ideally, you are an organized, dedicated, passionate and flexible individual who is familiar with the CCEYA and the Montessori philosophy. In this role, you will work as part of a team that includes the owner, Executive Director, Admin Manager, 10+ other site supervisors, our teaching staff, and our on-site cook. A minimum of 5 years of classroom experience is required. Knowledge of Montessori philosophy is an asset. Candidates must be available to work 9 hour shifts, between the hours of 7 am to 6 pm, with the understanding that flexibility is required in this role in order to cover for unexpected staff absences, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Manage staffing schedules
- Ensure program planning and the Montessori curriculum is carried out
- Conduct tours for prospective parents
- Connect with families and parents; address concerns or dissatisfactions as needed
- Organize special events such as holiday concert, curriculum night, parent teacher interviews, graduation, etc.
- Provide leadership to the educators team and motivate staff to bring out their best
- Ensuring all CCEYA regulations are being met and managing Ministry licensing and Public Health inspections
- Help cover for staff absences, including in the kitchen as needed
- The candidate might need to be in-program as our team grows
- Proactively identify and resolve any issues - maintenance, operations, etc.
Qualifications:
- A RECE or Montessori certified teacher with minimal five years of experience working in the classroom
- Minimal one-year leadership experience preferred
- Knowledge of Montessori curriculum is an asset
- Willing to roll up the sleeve and help whenever needed
- Highly flexible and adaptable to all situations
- A problem-solver and initiative-taker
- Detail-oriented and highly efficient
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Food Handlers Certificate an asset
