Hilton Vancouver Downtown is looking for a Shift Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities by performing routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and responding promptly to guest requests. Key duties include plumbing, electrical repairs, HVAC systems, and energy conservation programs.
Core Responsibilities
- Preventative Maintenance: Execute scheduled daily checks and maintenance tasks in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
- Repairs: Provide technical expertise in painting, basic plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and mechanical equipment.
- Guest Requests: Prioritize and respond to internal and external maintenance calls, ensuring issues are resolved swiftly with minimal disruption to guests.
- Compliance & Safety: Enforce fire, safety, pool and security regulations. Safely handle all hotel tools and equipment.
- Energy Management: Support energy conservation initiatives and system improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Previous maintenance or engineering experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of building management systems, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical repair.
- Availability: Flexibility to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays, is usually required.
- Communication: Strong english interpersonal skills to collaborate seamlessly with the Front Office and Housekeeping teams.
