Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting equipment, products and materials to various destinations while ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires a strong focus on safety, vehicle maintenance, and efficient route management to support our company's operational needs.
Duties
- Operate commercial trucks to transport equipment, products and material across local, regional, or national routes (Lowbedding equipment in Canada and USA, and local gravel hauling)
- Load and unload equipment and material.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs, mileage records, freight documentation and paperwork.
- Perform minor automotive repairs and troubleshooting to keep trucks in optimal condition.
- Coordinate with officestaff for efficient loading/unloading procedures.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during transportation activities.
- Assist with the operation of heavy equipment when required, ensuring proper handling and safety measures.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields is a must.
- Must have experience with E-logs.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment handling, and basic automotive repair is a plus.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation and compliance purposes.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during long routes.
