Irwin’s Safety Training provides a broad range of safety training courses across Nova Scotia to a variety of customers, both in industry and within communities. Irwin’s instructors have flexible schedule and the opportunities to travel to a variety of locations.
Irwin’s Safety is currently looking for qualified First Aid instructors to join our team.
Qualifications
Must possess a VALID certificate to instruct any of the following courses:
- Standard First Aid, Advanced First Aid, CPR
- Mental Health First Aid (must be certified by the Mental Health Commission of Canada)
- Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience instructing
- Must be physically able to perform practical exercises and set up the necessary equipment
- Experience in an industrial environment is preferred
- Experience instructing in Indigenous Communities is preferred
- Responsibilities
- Prepare required material / lesson plan prior to course delivery
- Using a variety of adult learning techniques, deliver course material and exam
- Mentor students as needed
- Adhere to all Irwin’s Training Management System
- Complete and return course paperwork in a timely manner
- Replenish first aid training kits from inventory upon completion of training
