About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join a flagship cement manufacturing plant in Bath, Ontario. This is a high-visibility leadership role within a major global industrial organization (~19,000 employees across 1,000 sites), where performance has significant internal and external impact.
This role is ideal for a strong engineering leader with deep heavy industrial maintenance experience, proven success in unionized environments, and a track record of driving cultural and operational transformation. A key focus of this position is leading the shift from reactive maintenance to a disciplined preventive maintenance system in a high-output, continuous production environment.
This is also a strategic career pathway role, with high performers often progressing into Plant Manager or regional leadership positions.
What We Offer
Salary: $145,000 – $160,000 CAD base + bonus (0–36%)
Schedule: Day shift (typically 6:00–7:00 AM start to ~4:00 PM)

What You’ll Do
- Lead plant-wide maintenance strategy across mechanical and electrical systems
- Manage a $20M–$30M CAD maintenance budget
- Drive the transition from reactive maintenance to preventive maintenance culture
- Oversee CMMS systems, reliability programs, and maintenance planning processes
- Lead maintenance coordinators who supervise planners, inspectors, and trades teams
- Manage unionized maintenance workforce through supervisory structure
- Oversee shutdown planning and execution (including major annual shutdown in February)
- Ensure equipment reliability across kilns, mills, crushers, conveyors, and plant systems
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate closely with plant leadership to ensure uptime and production reliability
- Provide visible, hands-on leadership across office (30%) and floor (70%) activities
- Support change management across evolving maintenance processes and systems
What We’re Looking For
- 5–10 years of heavy industrial experience
- 3–5 years in maintenance leadership roles
- Strong background in cement, mining, or similar heavy industrial environments
- Proven experience managing unionized maintenance teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related discipline) required
- Budgeting and P&L management
- Preventive maintenance systems and reliability engineering
