Overview
Bounce Volleyball Club is seeking a passionate and dedicated Volleyball Head Coach and Assistant Coach to lead our team in developing skills, teamwork and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in volleyball, with the ability to educate and inspire athletes. This role requires effective communication, strategic planning, and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- The ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of the game, proven leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive, competitive, and supportive team environment.
- Develop and implement training programs that enhance individual and team performance.
- Conduct regular practices focusing on skill development, game strategies, and physical conditioning.
- Educate players on the rules of volleyball, techniques, and sportsmanship.
- Organize and lead 1 on 1 athlete meetings to discuss goals, progress, and areas for improvement.
- Monitor player performance during games and practices, providing constructive feedback.
- Foster a supportive team culture that encourages collaboration and respect among players.
- Ensure the safety of all participants during practices and competitions.
- Participate in Club Hosted Tournaments, Volleyball Alberta Premiers, Provincials and Nationals.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of volleyball techniques, strategies, and rules.
- Ability to educate players effectively at various skill levels.
- Excellent communication skills to convey instructions clearly.
- Leadership qualities to motivate and inspire athletes.
- Organizational skills for planning practices, games, and events.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches, staff members, and parents.
- Previous involvement in club or school volleyball is an asset
Requirements on becoming a Coach as per Volleyball Alberta:
Person in Authority checks must be completed prior to leaders commencing their role for the club and interacting with youth. PIA checks should be completed at the time of registration, please refer to VA's website for more information.
