AgriHub Inc., holds ownership of Western Canada’s premier agricultural equipment and supply companies such as Dundas Agri Systems, Penner Farm Services, Central Ag Distribution, New Standard Ag, Penfor Construction and more. Operating in British Columbia to Ontario, AgriHub provides shared services such as Human Resources, Marketing, Finance and Information Technology to our operating companies.
We are currently looking for a Service Technician for Poultry Equipment to join our team at Dundas Agri Systems located in Brinston, Ontario.
In this newly created role, the Service Technician will provide excellent customer service by responding to service calls on farm and via remote login or phone. This is a hands-on position involving installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, mechanical, and computerized equipment. Typical equipment includes motors, fans, winches, actuators, lighting, VFDs, PLCs, controllers, and automated egg collection and packing equipment.
What you'll do:
- Install, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical agricultural equipment and controls
- Setup, troubleshoot, and repair agricultural computer hardware and software
- Test and commission installed projects and equipment which includes the review of the installation, checking the operation of motors, tracking belts and setting up of controls as well as training the customer on the use of the equipment
- Communicate with the Service Manager to ensure scheduled calls are completed in a timely manner
- Complete and submit service orders and other paperwork daily as required
- Participate in an on-call rotation including evenings and weekends as scheduled
- Provide exceptional customer service and support by answering questions, providing information on maintenance of the product, explaining the work that has been done and providing solutions for recurring problems
- Continuous learning to improve skills through reading manuals and working alongside other Technicians
- Ability to lift and carry at least 50lbs
- Other duties as assigned.
What you'll need:
- Bilingual (English and French) with strong verbal and written communication skills is a requirement of this position
- High level of electrical knowledge and understanding of safety procedures
- Previous custom wiring experience is an asset
- Previous PLC programming and or wiring experience is an asset
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
- Understanding of Variable Frequency drives (VFDs)
- Exceptional Interpersonal skills in dealing with customers, sub-contractors, and colleagues
- Independently motivated with a desire to learn
- Ability to periodically work out of town as required
- Ability to be on call; including evenings and weekends
