Legal Assistant/Paralegal – RAC Law Corporation
Position Overview RAC Law Corporation is seeking a highly organized and proactive Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support J. Andre Rachert. In this pivotal role, you will manage daily operations, including document management and drafting, legal research, client communications, calendar coordination, and firm administration. Your contributions will be essential to the efficient operation of the firm and the delivery of exceptional client service.
Salary
$6,200 per month, $74,400 per annum.

- Legislative and policy compliance

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all administrative functions, including scheduling, rescheduling, and time allocation for file work.
- Application of civil procedure rules for the BCSC and Tax Court.
- Prepare, proofread, and review legal documents, correspondence, and court filings.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence.
- Track due dates and limitation periods.
- Organize documents, maintaining clear separation between drafts and final versions.
- Uphold privilege and confidentiality standards.
- Conduct initial client interviews and maintain accurate client records.
- Perform data entry related to case information, court deadlines, and client files.
- Support project management by tracking deadlines, court dates, and case progress.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems in accordance with firm policies.
- Prepare and issue client invoices; manage accounts receivable and payable.
- Handle administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing calendars.
- Facilitate timely and professional client communications.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- The ability to learn and use Clio Manage (RAC Law uses Clio a cloud based legal practice management software).
- Experience in an administrative or clerical role within a legal environment.
- Exceptional proofreading, writing, and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with template platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Knowledge of legal drafting standards and procedures.
- Accurate data entry skills for case-related information.
- Project management abilities, including tracking case deadlines and court filings.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interactions with clients, witnesses, and advisors.
- Basic bookkeeping skills, including invoice preparation and management of accounts receivable/payable.
- Professional phone etiquette for client and internal communications.
