Mechanical & Structural Engineer
We are seeking a skilled and resourceful Mechanical / Structural Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the engineering of mobile bleacher trailers, ensuring every structure meets rigorous safety, stability, and code compliance standards.
Beyond traditional engineering, this position calls for creative problem-solving and hands-on involvement. Experience with metal fabrication is a strong asset, as you will be working closely with fabrication processes to bring designs from concept to reality.
This role also carries a project management component — you will plan and coordinate engineering projects from intake through delivery, managing timelines, budgets, and expectations. You will lead and mentor a small team of employees, providing day-to-day direction and fostering a collaborative, safety-first work environment.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, field-adjacent setting and is comfortable working cross-functionally with operations, sales, and installation crews to ensure every structure is delivered on time and built to last.
This position is on-site in a rural setting in Southwestern Ontario.
Public transportation is not available.
Duties
- Develop detailed structural designs and calculations.
- Conduct structural analysis using advanced software tools to assess load capacities and safety margins.
- Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Perform inspections during construction phases to ensure adherence to design plans, safety standards, and quality control measures.
- Identify potential structural issues early in the design process and propose effective solutions.
- Stay updated on the latest engineering practices, materials, and technological advancements relevant to structural design.
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Proven experience in structural design, analysis, and project management within a consulting or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and presenting technical information clearly.
