Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Deli Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of deli items, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Responsibilities
- Prepare deli meats, cheeses, and other food items following safety and quality standards
- Operate POS systems, for transactions such as cashiering and food sales
- Assist customers with selections, answer questions about products, and upsell items to enhance sales
- Handle cash transactions accurately and perform cash handling duties
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area and store, adhering to food safety regulations
- Manage inventory levels, restock shelves, and organize display cases for optimal presentation
- Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as slicing, packaging, and portioning deli products
- Practice effective time management to ensure smooth operations during busy hours
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation, food safety standards, and sanitation practices
- Experience with POS systems, will also train on site
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Good time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
- Must be able to handle food safely and follow all health regulations
