Tidy Tails is a free-roam dog grooming studio in Victoria. We're hiring a Bather + Shop Support to work alongside our groomers — bathing and prepping dogs, and keeping the shop running through the day.
This is a hands-on, physical role in a space where dogs move freely. It's rewarding work if you genuinely like dogs and don't mind getting wet, dirty, and tired — but it is real physical labour, so we want to be upfront about that.
What you'll do:
- Bathe, dry, and brush out dogs to our standard, prepping them for the groomer
- Handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely and calmly
- Keep the floor running between dogs: sweep, mop, clean up dog accidents, restock
- Basic open and close: set up in the morning, reset and tidy the shop for the next day
What we're looking for:
- Physical stamina — you're on your feet, lifting dogs, and moving all day
- Reliable and punctual (you'll be trusted to open and close the shop)
- Calm, confident, and gentle with dogs
- Comfortable working Tuesday–Saturday, with some schedule flexibility
- Bathing or grooming experience is a bonus, but we'll train the right person our way
Details:
- Part-time, approximately 3–4 daytime shifts per week (shop open Tuesday–Saturday; exact days and hours confirmed on hire)
- Employee position, on payroll
- $22/hour to start, moving to $25/hour once trained and working independently
- Tip-out on every dog you bathe — on top of your hourly
- Start date: mid-July
