Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, diligent and punctual Real Estate Law Clerk/Legal Assistant to join our professional team. The successful candidate will assist lawyers and staff with client intake, preparing correspondence, searching, preparing closing documents, scheduling signing appointments, closing and post-closing reporting tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist in onboarding clients, reviewing Purchase and Sale Agreements, mortgage lender instructions and preparing closing costs estimates
- communicating with other real estate industry offices, including realtors, municipal offices, law offices, land registry office staff
- file opening, drafting correspondences, searches of title and off-title investigations for lawyer review, preparing closing documents, scheduling meetings, attending to closing procedures, post-transaction reporting to clients
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
Experience
- Law Clerk or Real Estate Assistant diploma from an Ontario college required
- Previous experience working in a law firm or legal setting preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Closer, LEAP, Microsoft Suite required
