Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Meat Manager to oversee the daily operations of our meat department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring product quality, maintaining inventory, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires strong leadership skills, retail management expertise, and a passion for the food industry. The Meat Manager will play a key role in driving sales, merchandising, and operational efficiency within the store.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the meat department team, including recruiting, training, and developing staff to ensure high performance and excellent customer service.
- Manage inventory levels, purchasing, and stock rotation to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
- Oversee product merchandising, pricing strategies, and promotional displays to maximize sales opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation standards.
- Develop and implement sales strategies through marketing initiatives and customer engagement.
- Monitor department budgets, control costs, and optimize operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate goals, policies, and performance expectations.
- Address customer inquiries or complaints promptly to uphold the store’s reputation for excellent service.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth store operations and achieve overall business objectives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail management, preferably within a grocery or specialty food environment. (Not necessary)
- Good communication skills.
