Northam Beverages is currently seeking a General Hand to join our team. This is a full-time contract position working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Start immediately .
Key Responsibilities
- Support packaging operations on the canning line.
- Prepare packaging materials, including assembling trays and boxes, applying stickers, and preparing shippers.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to ensure product quality, safety, and compliance standards are met.
- Stack and move finished product efficiently, including repetitive lifting, twisting, and material handling of up to 50 lbs, and operating a pallet jack.
- Prepare, organize, and clean packaging equipment and work areas to support efficient production.
- Collect and crush waste cans generated from the packaging line.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is a strong asset; general labour experience is also considered an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn production equipment are considered assets.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
- Physically capable of standing, reaching, bending, and lifting 50+ lbs for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with high noise levels, temperature variations (hot, cold, humid), wet floors, and forklift/pedestrian traffic.
You Must Be Able To
- Perform all duties safely and efficiently — safety is our top priority
- Provide your own steel-toe safety footwear
- Work rotating shifts of five (5) eight-hour shifts between: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM and four (4) ten-hour shifts between 12:30 PM – 11:00 PM
- Meet the legal requirement of being at least 19 years of age, due to the nature of our business
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $21.50 – $22.00 per hour
- Product Allowance: $75.00 per month toward company products
- Paid Vacation: 4% vacation pay is paid out each pay
