The Position:
We’re growing our team and looking for a Payroll & Benefits Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a passion for payroll and all the complexities that entails along with the ability to manage multi employer benefit plans. You’re known as the person who likes to figure things out and making processes work for both the people and the system. As a systems superuser, this role will be key in making our work flows operating smoothly but ensuring the personal touch is not lost. This role is hybrid for the right person and when you come to work at our plant in Mahone Bay you enjoy spectacular views, and get to know the team and business you support.
What You Will Do:
· Process Canadian and US weekly payrolls and all related payroll activities (posting to ERP, labour costing etc.)
· Input and onboard new hires, manage HR related changes within HCM and employee file
· Maintain HR process documents, update HRIS as required
· Calculate and remit union payments, if required, (dues, education fund etc.)
· Maintain employee training records
· Support the Payroll Manager role with preparing payroll entries and other payroll administrative activities; reporting, year end reporting
· Support and manage the roll out of new digital work processes
· Support HR programs, general administration
· Answers routine payroll, human resource questions
What You Bring:
· Completion of post-secondary program in related field combined with a PCP designation or accounting background preferred
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience processing payroll and ERP related systems
· Strong computer skills required, including MS Office programs, ability to manage & transition all workflows/activities to digital platform
· Experience with ADP WFN an asset
· Ability to learn and be highly proficient with the use of databases, HRIS, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Monday.com, various systems & programs
· Solid understanding of all payroll activities including human resources, benefits
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to work within and meet deadlines
· Understanding and ability to display a high degree of confidentiality and discretion while working with sensitive and private information
· Good problem-solving and people centred, excellent customer service skills
· Demonstrates a high degree of ownership of the work
· Willingness to adapt, take professional development and training as needed
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; easily partners with colleagues at all levels of the organization
· Embraces change, loves learning, demonstrates a continuous improvement attitude in daily work
