Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating transportation activities, managing freight schedules, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with transportation management systems, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. The Dispatcher plays a critical role in maintaining smooth operations within our supply chain and 3PL partnerships, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Duties
- Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using transportation management systems such as SyteLine and AS400.
- Manage shipping & receiving processes, including tracking deliveries and updating relevant data entry systems.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, warehouse staff, and clients via multi-line phone systems and phone etiquette.
- Utilize analysis skills to optimize routes, reduce delays, and improve overall freight efficiency.
- Monitor supply chain activities to ensure compliance with company policies and customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, delays, and other logistical information for reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with 3PL providers to coordinate freight movements and resolve any issues promptly.
- Perform data entry tasks related to shipping schedules, freight documentation, and inventory updates.
- Assist in shipping & receiving activities as needed to support warehouse operations.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with transportation management systems such as SyteLine, AS400, and other logistics software.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes and freight management.
- Experience working with 3PL providers and managing shipping & receiving operations.
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems effectively.
- Strong data entry skills with high typing speed and accuracy.
- Analytical skills to assess logistics data for process improvements.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Prior experience in freight coordination or transportation management is preferred but not required.
