Title: Little Bloomers Childcare Centre Supervisor
Job description: Our Supervisor is responsible for ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children, by supervising and working as a member of teaching teams with RECE's and ECA's in order to both plan and implement strong, and developmentally appropriate programs for children aged 18 months to 6 years of age. The supervisor must adhere to company policies. The Supervisor is required to not only comply themselves but also assure and encourage all employees to comply also. They must demonstrate a strong leadership quality. The Supervisor is required to both assist and aid all staff and children with potentially all of the following duties:
- Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.
- Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts.
- Aid in preparing snacks and arranging rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
- Assist with proper eating, dressing and toilet habits.
- Submit written observations on children to the appropriate persons (parents, director, special needs partner etc.).
- Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties.
- Attend and facilitate staff meetings to discuss areas of improvement, compliance and celebrate achievements of the Centre.
- Engage in accurate and correct record keeping in order to ensure compliance with the Ministry guidelines
- May be responsible for carrying out the enrolment process and collecting enrollment fees for new children, as well as responsible for maintaining an accurate payroll system (i.e. ensuring employees are accurately punching in and out)
- Be available to answer all RECE, ECA and Cook questions
- Ensure accurate timekeeping in compliance with Ministry guidelines.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Ensure compliance with Fire, Health, Ministry of Education and Building Code simultaneously.
- Ensure of doing applications for funding and reconciliations, or that accountant/bookkeeper has necessary information to do them.
- Organize events for the Daycare families and/or staff professional development events within and also after hours.
- Order office, daycare and food supplies.
- Submit monthly attendance calendar for funding.
- Social media and website management.
