About the Role
This position is responsible for leading Architectural Sheet Metal crews safely, efficiently, and professionally while maintaining the high quality standards Laing Roofing Ltd. is known for.
We are looking for a Foreman who:

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Crew Management
- Lead Architectural Sheet Metal crews safely and efficiently
- Communicate daily work plans, expectations, and responsibilities clearly
- Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and site logistics
- Mentor apprentices, newer workers, and Lead Hands
- Promote accountability, professionalism, and teamwork
- Help maintain a positive and solution-focused culture on site
Safety Leadership
- Lead safety-first planning and execution on all projects
- Conduct and review FLHAs, toolbox talks, and site safety documentation
- Ensure compliance with company policies, WorkSafeBC regulations, and site requirements
- Identify and address hazards immediately
- Personally model safe work practices and proper PPE use at all times
Production & Quality
- Review drawings, specifications, and details before work begins
- Ensure installations meet Laing quality standards and project specifications
- Coordinate layout, fabrication, and installation activities
- Reduce rework through planning, communication, and attention to detail
- Maintain organized, clean, and professional job sites
- Bring forward solutions when challenges arise
Equipment & Accountability
- Ensure company tools, equipment, and vehicles are properly maintained and organized
- Complete inspections honestly and thoroughly
- Coordinate maintenance proactively
- Respect and protect company assets and materials
Qualifications
- Experience in Architectural Sheet Metal required
- Previous Foreman or leadership experience preferred
- Journeyman and/or Red Seal Certification considered a strong asset
- Ability to read drawings, specifications, and architectural details
- Strong understanding of sheet metal systems, layouts, and installation methods
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Fall Protection certification required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract preferred
- Additional safety certifications considered an asset
