Compensation
Starting salary $50k with bonus and befits and will be based on experience and role scope. Final rate will be determined based on leadership experience, retail management background, and overall responsibilities. MintInk offers health benefits and yearly incentive based bonus with this position.
Position Overview
Mintink Sports Cards Inc. is hiring a Retail Store Manager to lead the day-to-day operations, sales execution, team performance, and customer experience at our new Oakville retail location.
This role is responsible for driving sales results, coaching and developing retail staff, maintaining strong store standards, and ensuring company policies and procedures are consistently followed. The Retail Store Manager will play an important role in building the culture, routines, and customer experience of a new store from the ground up.
The Retail Store Manager works closely with the General Manager and Director of Retail to execute Mintink’s retail strategy at the store level. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on floor execution, people leadership, sales performance, operational discipline, and delivering a strong customer experience in a fast-paced specialty retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Performance Leadership
· Drive in-store sales performance and support achievement of store-level targets
· Lead by example on the sales floor through strong customer engagement and product knowledge
· Coach sales associates on upselling, cross-selling, customer conversion, and overall selling behaviours
· Monitor daily and weekly sales results and take action to improve performance where required
· Support local store initiatives, events, promotions, and community-building opportunities
Team Leadership & Development
· Supervise, support, and motivate retail sales associates during daily operations
· Assist with scheduling, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance feedback
· Support hiring and development of new team members
· Set clear expectations for professionalism, customer service, productivity, and store standards
· Help create a positive, accountable, and team-focused store culture
Customer Experience & Store Standards
· Ensure a consistently high-quality customer experience on the sales floor
· Handle escalated customer issues professionally, efficiently, and in line with company expectations
· Maintain strong store presentation, cleanliness, organization, and merchandising standards
· Ensure product is displayed strategically, securely, and in a way that supports sales
· Support a welcoming environment for collectors, hobbyists, families, and new customers
Operations & Compliance
· Ensure compliance with Mintink policies, SOPs, and loss-prevention standards
· Support cash-handling procedures, opening and closing routines, and daily operational checklists
· Reinforce security, access control, product protection, and store safety requirements
· Assist with inventory accuracy, cycle counts, product replenishment, and store-level reporting
· Communicate store opportunities, risks, staffing needs, and operational concerns to leadership
Qualifications
· 3+ years of retail experience, preferably with supervisory, team lead, assistant manager, or store manager responsibilities
· Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills
· Sales-driven and customer-focused mindset
· Ability to lead by example in a hands-on retail environment
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Comfortable working evenings, weekends, holidays, and events as required
· Experience in specialty retail, collectibles, trading cards, hobby retail, gaming, or sports cards is an asset
· Familiarity with Shopify POS or similar retail systems is an asset
Work Structure
This is a full-time, on-site role based at Mintink’s Oakville retail location. Scheduling will align with store operating hours, events, and business needs. Evening and weekend availability will be required.
