Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist II to join our agile development team. This role is responsible for ensuring software quality through a combination of exploratory testing, automated testing, defect analysis, release validation, and close collaboration with developers and business stakeholders. The successful candidate will be a hands-on QA professional who can independently drive testing activities while contributing to the delivery of reliable, high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Review user stories, business requirements, and technical specifications to identify test scenarios, risks, and coverage requirements.

Design, execute, and maintain test cases for functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing activities.

Validate business-critical workflows across user interface, API, application, and database layers.

Perform exploratory testing to identify defects, usability issues, and potential areas of risk.

Support release validation, deployment verification, and post-production smoke testing activities.

Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, supporting evidence, and impact assessments.

Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders to investigate issues and improve product quality.

Contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of automated testing frameworks, scripts, and regression test suites.

Validate REST APIs and backend integrations to ensure functionality, reliability, and data integrity.

Execute database validation activities using SQL and other query tools to verify application data and business processes.

Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to testing processes, quality standards, and development practices.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in software quality assurance, software testing, or a related quality-focused role.

Practical experience working with test automation frameworks and maintaining automated test suites.

Strong understanding of functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing methodologies.

Experience validating REST APIs and web services.

Proficiency with SQL or similar query languages for backend and database validation.

Experience using defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, GitHub, or similar platforms.

Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
