As a Pharmacy Assistant at Seamless Care Pharmacy, you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient processing of prescriptions, particularly handling unfilled prescriptions, coordinating renewals, verifying patient information, and assisting with insurance-related tasks. Responsibilities:
Prescription Processing & Data Entry:
- Accurately enter prescription details into the pharmacy system.
- Verify patient information, ensuring accuracy of demographics, allergies, and medical history.
Unfills & Prescription Renewals:
- Monitor unfilled prescriptions and take action to resolve any issues.
- Contact homes or care facilities to notify them about prescription renewal needs.
- Communicate with healthcare providers for prescription renewals and follow up for timely approval.
Coordination & Communication:
- Collaborate closely with pharmacists, technicians, and other team members to ensure prescriptions are promptly updated.
- Maintain organized and accurate records of prescription status, renewals, and communications.
- Assist with various pharmacy duties to help maintain an efficient workflow.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the pharmacy environment.
- Experience in patient care settings is advantageous, particularly in hospitals or clinics.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are critical for managing medications and inventory efficiently.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in patient care is required.
- Proficiency with computers and Kroll software.
Qualifications
- Previous pharmacy assistant or data entry experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good computer and typing skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
