Into Action Recovery is seeking a dedicated Support Worker who is passionate about helping men rebuild their lives through recovery. We believe that lived experience, when combined with professionalism, accountability, and compassion, creates meaningful change.
This position is ideal for someone who has established a strong foundation in their own recovery and is ready to support others while maintaining healthy professional boundaries.
About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will help create a safe, structured, and recovery-focused environment for residents participating in our supportive recovery programs. You will work alongside our clinical and leadership teams to ensure residents receive consistent support while maintaining program standards and safety.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support residents throughout scheduled shifts.
- Foster a positive, recovery-oriented living environment.
- Conduct resident check-ins and provide peer support.
- Monitor compliance with house rules and program expectations.
- Complete accurate daily documentation and shift reports.
- Perform resident counts and wellness checks.
- Assist with resident transportation to appointments, meetings, and community activities.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and critical incidents.
- Administer Naloxone in emergency situations (training provided if required).
- Communicate concerns promptly to management and clinical staff.
- Support new admissions and resident orientation.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Minimum one (1) year of continuous sobriety
- Personal lived experience in recovery
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence
- Clean driving record
- Current First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
- Naloxone certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Criminal Record Check suitable for working with vulnerable adults
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional during crisis situations
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with:
- Minimum 20 hours of relevant training in one or more of the following:
- Addiction Recovery
- Crisis Intervention
- Conflict Resolution
- Trauma-Informed Practice
- Psychosocial Interventions
- Mental Health Support
- Experience working in supportive recovery, treatment, housing, or community services.
- Knowledge of 12-Step recovery principles.

This is a full-time position requiring flexibility to work:

- Statutory holidays as required
Pay: $18.25-$21.00 per hour
