Position Summary
The Sales Consultant is responsible for managing the entire vehicle sales process from the initial customer contact through delivery and ongoing relationship development. This role is focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences, building long-term loyalty, and consistently achieving sales goals.
Successful candidates are strong communicators, expert listeners, detail-oriented professionals, and team players who are committed to continuous learning and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Build Strong Customer Relationships
- Greet customers promptly, professionally, and courteously.
- Understand customer needs and recommend suitable vehicle options.
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships
- Manage customer follow-up using dealership systems and processes.
- Maintain detailed and accurate customer records in the DMS.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and effectively.
- Conduct daily prospecting and follow-up activities.
Maintain Attention to Detail
- Accurately document customer needs and interactions.
- Prepare vehicles and paperwork for delivery.
- Ensure all documentation is completed correctly and on time.
- Continuously evaluate and improve time management and sales effectiveness.
Represent the Edwards Garage Brand
- Participate in dealership and manufacturer training.
- Stay informed on vehicle products, features, specials, and competitor offerings.
- Deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
- Contribute positively to a team- oriented sales environment.
- Maintain professional appearance and workspace cleanliness.
- Follow all health, safety, and workplace policies and procedures.
Industry Knowledge
Maintain current knowledge of:
- Vehicle products and accessories.
- Pricing and promotions.
- Industry trends and competitor offerings.
Qualifications and Skills
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.

- Ability to handle objections and resolve customer concerns professionally.
- Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office.
Requirements
- Valid driver's licence.
- Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmissions.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as scheduled.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary education or automotive-related courses considered an asset.
- Automotive sales experience considered an asset.
- AMVIC licensing required or willingness to obtain.
