Security Guard - Tactical (Multi-Site Coverage)
Position Summary:
The Casual Tactical Officer ensures the safety and security of assigned properties by conducting patrols, enforcing site rules, monitoring access, and responding to incidents and emergencies. The role requires professionalism, strong situational awareness, and clear communication while maintaining a secure environment for clients and the public.
Key Responsibilities
- Enforce property rules, regulations, and access control procedures
- Conduct patrols and monitor premises, including CCTV surveillance
- Respond to incidents, emergencies, and medical situations (First Aid/CPR/AED)
- De-escalate conflicts and manage unauthorized or trespassing individuals
- Investigate incidents and complete accurate reports and documentation
- Maintain safety, security, and order for all patrons and clients
- Collaborate with emergency services and law enforcement as required
- Provide professional customer service and support daily operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Alberta Security Licence (SSIA)
- Minimum 1 year of security experience
- First Aid certification (CPR/AED)
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to patrol on foot for extended periods (8–12 hours)
- Professional demeanor with strong observational and decision-making skills
- Ability to handle high-stress situations and work in fast-paced environments
- Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork ability
Required Qualifications
- Experience in tactical, high-profile, or frontline security roles
- Background in retail security or loss prevention
- Additional certifications (e.g., PPCT, MOAB, NVCI, AVERT)
- Experience with CCTV systems and incident reporting software
- De-escalation and conflict resolution training
- Post-secondary education in Criminal Justice or related field is an asset
