Moving Driver / Lead
Parker’s Delivery and Moving is growing and we are looking for a reliable, professional Moving Driver / Lead to join our team.
This position is not just a driving job. The Moving Driver / Lead is expected to safely operate the moving truck, represent the company professionally, and work hands-on with the moving crew during every part of the job.
Responsibilities
The Moving Driver / Lead will be responsible for:
- Safely and legally operating a company moving truck
- Following all traffic laws and driving professionally at all times
- Leading and working alongside the moving crew
- Loading and unloading furniture, boxes, appliances, and customer belongings
- Wrapping, padding, strapping, staging, and protecting items during moves
- Protecting customer homes, buildings, elevators, hallways, and shared spaces
- Communicating professionally with customers, building staff, property managers, tenants, coworkers, and management
- Keeping job sites organized and respectful
- Reporting damages, customer concerns, safety issues, employee issues, or job problems to management
- Completing required paperwork, logs, or job notes as directed
- Maintaining a respectful and professional attitude with coworkers and customers
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have a valid driver’s licence and clean abstract
- Have a clean and responsible driving attitude
- Be comfortable driving and maneuvering a 5-ton moving truck and smaller truck
- Previous moving experience and know how to pack a truck properly
- Experience leading a crew
- Good customer service skills
- Knowledge of safe lifting and moving practices
- Be physically able to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, climb, and work on your feet for extended periods
- Be willing to work as part of the moving crew, not just sit in the truck
- Be professional, respectful, and reliable
- Be able to communicate clearly with customers and coworkers
- Show up on time and ready to work
- Follow company policies and safety procedures
Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding position. The job may include:
- Lifting and carrying heavy furniture, boxes, and equipment
- Climbing in and out of the truck
- Walking up and down stairs
- Working in tight spaces, hallways, elevators, apartments, homes, and commercial buildings
- Standing, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and carrying for long periods
- Working outdoors in changing weather conditions
Schedule
- As needed. As we grow, it will be more regular
- Weekday and weekend availability is required
- Hours may vary depending on scheduled moves and workload
Pay
Pay will be based on experience, reliability, and ability.
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
