General Floral Manager – Edmonton
The Opportunity: We're looking for a strategic, people-first General Manager to lead a group of floral storefronts in Alberta. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on developing great leaders, has a sharp eye for operational excellence, and wants to shape what floral retail looks like across a growing local market. You'll oversee our Store Managers, setting the standard for design, service, and performance at every location, while keeping the artistic charm that makes each shop special. You’ll be a steward of success through the day-to-day, and be an integral part of planning, leading, and executing key floral holidays each year. You'll be the one making sure every store, every manager, and every customer is thriving. This is a full-time, salaried position with incentive-based compensation, so you're rewarded for the growth you drive.
What You'll Do (The Job):
- Lead a Team of Leaders: Coach, motivate, and develop Store Managers as team leaders, retail operators, and business owners - think regular check-ins, goal-setting, and helping each of them grow into the best version of themselves as they do the same with their teams. Oversee the teams as a whole and recruit, level up, and make changes to the structure when needed.
- Drive Consistent Standards: Keep quality, design, and service consistent across all three locations. Work to make sure logistics, ordering, and operations run smoothly everywhere.
- Be a People-first Champion: Ensure your teams and their needs are taken care of as new processes and standards are implemented.
- Demonstrate By Example: Get into the nitty gritty when needed. Be willing to roll up your sleeves and execute holiday pushes, projects with tight deadlines, all the miscellaneous duties that come with the industry.
- Customer Experience Excellence: Champion a customer-first culture across the group – great service, quick help, and always with a smile, no matter which store someone walks into.
- Be a Resource: Provide expertise on staffing, scheduling, store operations, inventory, and company policy, and be the go-to problem-solver when your managers need backup.
- Inventory & Quality Oversight: Keep an eye on flowers and supplies across all locations, working with head office on ordering while ensuring receiving, prepping, and quality stay top-notch everywhere.
- Local Community Engagement: Be the face of the group across Edmonton. Build new community connections at each storefront and keep existing ones strong.
- Health & Safety: Ensure every shop is clean, safe, and organized for your teams and your customers.
Who You Are (About You):
- You're a leader of leaders who loves developing people. You care about building strong teams that succeed through supporting each other - no one left behind.
- You think in terms of systems and standards, not just one shop at a time.
- You have worked in a florist OR have very strong experience in a highly seasonal retail business. This is mandatory - make sure you address it in your application!
- You've got an eye for detail and know what makes a floral arrangement truly special.
- You're highly organized and can juggle priorities across multiple locations.
- You lead with heart, communicate clearly, and build trust fast.
- You're flexible and excited to help a growing local business scale the right way.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- 5+ years of retail management experience, including managing 2 or more stores, locations, or units
- Excellent knowledge of flower care, floral design, and inventory management
- Excellent communication, people skills, and a knack for solving problems
- A low-ego, roll-up-your-sleeves, “people-first” attitude that fits right in with collaborative vibe
