Job Description: Activities Co-Ordinator
· To assist the Activities Coordinator in planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring, and evaluating recreation and leisure services which will enhance the lifestyle of Residents.
· To provide opportunities for Residents to participate in activities that they enjoy and to develop new social, recreational, educational, leisure interests and pastimes.
· To ensure compliance with Regulatory requirements. To ensure effective operation and continuous improvement of the recreation services.
· To effectively represent the interests of the residence in all interactions with the public, residents, families, and co-workers.
Key Accountabilities:
· To assist in the effective and efficient operation of all aspects of the Recreation Program in accordance with standards, policies, and practices of the residence and in compliance with
· legislative and regulatory requirements.
· Ensuring that Health & Safety policies, practices, standards, and legislated/regulated requirements are in place and always maintained.
Resident Care and Services
· The quality of Resident programming, in accordance with the residence standards and legislative and regulatory requirements.
· Implementing a diverse recreational program to enhance the well-being of our residents by planning activities and outings, guest speakers, entertainment, etc.
· Assisting with the provision of a program to educate and promote a healthy lifestyle, offer mental and physical. stimulation, and promote a lively interactive atmosphere.
· Promotes and supports a team environment.
· Works CO-operatively with the Activities Coordinator, the management team, volunteers, families, and other staff members.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in Retirement industries or working with seniors
- Post secondary education in Recreation, Activation, or Health Care an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to respecting values and maintaining confidentiality of residents
- Ability to adapt to changing needs of older adults
- A positive attitude, enthusiasm, and energy!
- Physical abilities: bending, stretching, sitting, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work holidays, evenings, and weekends
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour
