TDE is searching for Journeyman Boilermaker, who will be responsible for fabricating pressured vessels consistent with TDE’s fabrication drawings, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and Quality Control Manual.
Responsibilities:
Includes but not limited to:
- Read and understand all fabrication drawings.
- Layout and fit pressure vessels including shells, heads, internal and external attachments.
- Layout and cut holes and install nozzles.
- Tack-weld using the Electric Arc Welding process and equipment.
- Able to use the oxy-fuel and plasma troches for cutting holes and metal parts.
- Follow all TDE’s welding procedures (WPS), ASME codes, and Clients specifications.
- Work with a variety of equipment including grinders, drills and band saws.
- Able to follow instructions exactly as given.
- Mentor and work closely with Welder Apprentices.
- Report any issues and/or concerns to the Vessel Lead Hand(s) and/or the Vessel Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years of experience as a Journeyman Vessel Fitter.
- Must have Journeyman status – B Pressure Welder, Boilermaker and/or Steamfitter/Pipefitter.
- Working knowledge and background in a fabrication, manufacturing, and construction is essential.
- Proficient knowledge of industry best practices.
- Self-motivated and able to work in a high pressure and deadline driven environment.
- Ability to prioritize activities, adapt, and stay focused in a dynamic changing environment.
- Good computer skills are an asset.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact positively with all levels of staff.
- n the shop there are long periods of standing and occasional sitting and walking for short periods of time.
- Exposure to noise, dust, hot/cold weather, wind, slippery surfaces, tripping hazards, heights, chemical fumes.
- Lifting objects and operating machinery that requires use of shoulders, arms, hands, and fingers to grip or reach.
- Heavy lifting and carrying objects that requires use of legs and back.
- Frequent climbing of stairs, ladders, and machinery.
- Occasional pushing and pulling of tools and machinery.
- Occasional crouching, squatting, or crawling into small spaces.
- Clear vision and ability to apply physical and mental focus.
- Primarily located in the shop with occasional office or field visits.
- May have some travel requirements.
This role requires candidates to demonstrate technical competence, attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to work effectively within a team on complex projects involving vessel fabrication and installation.
