Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Painter/Supervisor to lead painting projects across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role involves overseeing painting crews, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining safety protocols. The ideal candidate will possess strong construction experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for executing high-quality paint jobs while supervising staff and coordinating project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise painting crews on various projects including residential, commercial, restoration, and industrial sites.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute painting plans.
- Perform or oversee the application of paint using hand tools and power tools, ensuring even coverage and high-quality finishes.
- Manage project timelines effectively through strong time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed, including proper rigging and use of personal protective equipment.
- Coordinate with clients and project managers to understand project scope and customer expectations.
- Maintain equipment such as brushes, rollers, sprayers, scaffolding, and other necessary tools in good condition.
- Train and mentor team members in proper painting techniques and safety standards.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the project to uphold company standards.
Skills
- Proven construction experience with a focus on restoration, residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial painting.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding setup, rigging, carpentry skills, and use of caulking materials.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines efficiently.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to construction painting environments.
- Ability to supervise teams while maintaining a collaborative work environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting issues during projects.
