Fun Diggers is a new indoor family entertainment centre in Kanata featuring a children’s sand-play area, realistic RC excavators and crawlers, birthday parties, group events, and café services. We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily operations and help deliver a safe, organized, and memorable guest experience.Key responsibilities
- Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate daily facility operations.
- Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate employees.
- Oversee admissions, bookings, waivers, memberships, parties, and events.
- Coordinate sand-play, RC Zone, party-room, reception, and café operations.
- Monitor guest capacity and ensure activities run safely and on schedule.
- Understand the operation of RC cars, crawlers, excavators, remote controls, batteries, chargers, and related equipment.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and perform minor repairs on RC vehicles and equipment.
- Diagnose common mechanical and electrical issues and arrange professional repairs when required.
- Maintain equipment inspection, repair, battery-charging, and maintenance records.
- Ensure RC equipment is charged, tested, clean, and ready before each session.
- Train staff and customers in the safe and proper use of RC equipment.
- Maintain an inventory of RC replacement parts, batteries, tools, and accessories.
- Implement safety, sanitation, equipment-handling, and emergency procedures.
- Respond professionally to customer questions, complaints, and special requests.
- Conduct opening and closing checks and maintain operational records.
- Monitor inventory and purchase supplies, merchandise, food, and operating materials.
- Monitor sales, expenses, cash handling, and POS reports.
- Assist with budgets, operating targets, promotions, and community partnerships.
- Coordinate birthday parties, corporate events, school visits, and private bookings.
- Work with suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
- Ensure compliance with applicable company policies and government requirements.
- Report business performance and operational concerns to the owner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in engineering, technology, business administration, operations management, or a related field.
- Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of RC cars, crawlers, excavators, batteries, controllers, and charging systems is an asset.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on RC equipment.
- Strong leadership, organization, customer-service, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable using POS, booking, scheduling, email, and office software.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Ability to communicate in more than one language is a strong asset.
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset or must be obtained after hiring.
- Must be available for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Pay: $51,188.34-$60,000.00 per year
