Overview
We are seeking a skilled Loader Operator to join our construction and heavy equipment team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of heavy machinery, including loaders, excavators, dozers, and graders. This role requires mechanical knowledge, safety awareness, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment. The Loader Operator will play a vital part in ensuring project progress through precise equipment operation and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate loaders/excavator to load trucks, maintain aggregate stockpiles
- Operate Cat 160M grader to maintain pit road
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on heavy equipment to ensure optimal functioning
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic repairs when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance activities
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as loaders, excavators, graders
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Valid Class 5 License
- Knowledge of aggregate, grading, stockpiling, scale use
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds as needed
