The Manager, Pricing Strategy drives the development and implementation of pricing strategies to successfully position the company’s product solutions in the market and achieve superb financial results.
Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Manager, Pricing Strategy.

Understands key financial and operational drivers of performance and integrates these into the Pricing strategy and tactics to maximize revenue and optimize contribution while supporting the achievement of corporate objectives.

Analyses and monitors the competitive landscape; identifies and analyzes trends and key indicators; anticipates and clarifies future pricing issues, risks and opportunities; assesses risk and proposes alternatives for corrective actions to meet plan pricing objectives and targets; asserts recommendations for action plans based on identification of areas of greatest potential.

Leads the annual Rate Action process for their assigned product suite(s) or for all applicable products associated with their assigned customer(s). Integrates the Corporate Plan, pricing strategy and risks/ competitive/ trends assessment to develop specific pricing tactics for implementation via the annual Rate Action. Leads a cross-functional team of internal and external stakeholders through a process that includes price model development, analysis, development of price recommendations, integration with proposed product changes, obtaining product owner and executive approvals, testing and implementation.

Ensures changes and corrections to the pricing plan are carried out in compliance with corporate policy. Promotes consistent implementation and use of corporate pricing policies, processes, guidelines and tools in order to maintain integrity, safeguard corporate assets, and mitigate risk.

Identifies opportunities for significant revenue growth within product suite. Conducts financial evaluation and assessment of new business and/or customer opportunities, new product pricing, or cost evaluation initiatives.

Conducts surgical mining, optimization, analytics and marketing methodology for pricing solutions. Focuses on reducing cost-to-serve/transaction costs, identify premium pricing opportunities and working with the Product and Sales organizations to target profitable business segments for growth and increase price segmentation.

Leads cross-functional teams to capture opportunities and improve price realization. Initiates regular performance reviews of monthly results with business process owners, managers, and members of the cross-functional teams and provides recommendations for performance improvement targets and plans.

Ensures continued self-development by maintaining and enhancing knowledge of pricing methodology and techniques, current trends, market research and modeling tools for Pricing, corporate data and information sources, and business processes and operations.
Education
-
Completed post-secondary, preferably in Business, Marketing or a related field.

Master’s in Business Administration is an asset.
Experience
-
3 to 5 years of relevant functional experience.
-
2 or more years’ experience in a supervisory capacity is an asset.

Experience in pricing or finance is an asset.
-
Experience in Product or Service Management would be an asset.

Advanced computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access).

Sound organizational, analytical, judgement and decision-making skills with proven abilities in problem solving.

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams at various levels within the organization.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Negotiating experience would be an asset.
