Job Duties

Ensure that all stocks and supplies are requested in a timely fashion so that correct stock levels are maintained and stored under optimum conditions.

Ensure that operating equipment and inventory is used properly and not abused.

Estimate and order ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation.

Complete inventory, inclusive of counts and submission in a timely fashion

Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage.

Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents to verify product quality and quantity.

Ensure employees are trained on their job duties, food preparation, food delivery, customer service, sanitation and safety procedures.

Develop work schedules, ensure adequate staffing levels and assign duties to all staff each shift.

Monitor staff performance; apply corrective or disciplinary action as required.

Hire and onboard new team members

Conduct annual performance reviews for new team members

Complete clock approvals and approve time off requests for team members

Ensure that all staff members serving liquor are appropriately certified and over the age of 18.

Ensure effective communication by attending meetings as required and holding staff meetings on a regular basis to impart information.

Maintain a working knowledge of all statutory regulations affecting restaurant health and safety, and ensure that any safety hazards are identified and rectified.

Compile and balance cash receipts at the end of the day/shift, complete daily cash out and log

Perform various financial activities such as cash handling, deposit preparation, annual budgets and gratuity spreadsheet.

Supervise and participate in kitchen and dining area cleaning activities.

Administer appropriate resolutions to complaints.

Take drink orders, serve beverages and pastries and serve them in an efficient and accurate manner.

The position requires an individual who has the ability to multitask, work well in a team as well as on their own and has strong communication skills

Requirements
-
Diploma or degree in Hospitality, Food Services, Restaurant Management or an equivalent field an asset.

Minimum 2 years of experience in the food services industry.

Minimum 2 years of direct work experience in a supervisory capacity.
-
Experience in all aspects of customer service and people management; customer serves training or certificate is an asset.

Demonstrated ability to lead and direct a team.
-
Strong working knowledge of hospitality industry principles, methods, practices, and techniques.

Experience supervising employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
-
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

Proficient with the use of computers, including Microsoft office suite, internet and email.
Physical Requirements
