Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Stable Hand to join our equestrian team. This role is essential for maintaining the health, safety, and well-being of our horses while ensuring the smooth operation of the stable. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with animals, possess mechanical knowledge, and be capable of heavy lifting and operating farm machinery. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in horse care and farm management within a professional environment.
Duties
- Feed, water, and groom horses daily to ensure their health and cleanliness
- Clean stalls, paddocks, and surrounding areas to maintain a safe and sanitary environment
- Assist with the handling and exercising of horses under supervision
- Perform routine maintenance on stable equipment and farm machinery
- Help with loading and unloading feed, supplies, and equipment using appropriate heavy lifting techniques
- Monitor horses for signs of illness or injury and report concerns to management
- Assist with pasture management, including mowing and fencing repairs as needed
- Operate farm machinery such as tractors or other equipment safely and efficiently when required
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with horses or in a farm setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus for maintaining equipment and farm machinery
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds or more) on a regular basis
- Knowledge of farm machinery operation is desirable
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and animal care standards
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to arrive promptly for scheduled shifts

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
