Location: Riverside Place Vanderhoof, BC
Hours of Work
1 Part-time Position : 34.5 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday; 9am to 4pm (Tuesday to Thursday) and 10:00am to 6:00pm (Friday to Saturday), unless otherwise required by programming or client service delivery
1 Casual Position: Casual/ as needed; shifts Sunday to Saturdays from 10:00am to 6pm

Salary: $25.55 – $29.26/hour as per CSSEA & CSSBA Collective Agreement (JJEP Grid Level 9)
(Wage Rate to increase by at least 6% as new Collective Agreement has been ratified, awaiting release of new wage rate information within the next couple of months)
Job Summary
Working as a second Cook in Seniors Care Facility duties include preparing meals, following menu plans, and ensuring the operation of the dining and cooking facilities run smoothly while on shift. Prepares, cooks, and serves meals and snacks, including those for special dietary needs and special occasions. Adjusts menus for special diets and solves issues related to shortage of food and supplies. Able to work independently in the kitchen to prepare lunch and dinner for the seniors. Performs work within safe food handling requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Completion of grade 10 plus graduation from a cooking program
- One (1) year related experience or a combination of experience and training that provides the desired skills, knowledge, and abilities.
- Valid Level 1 Food Safe Certificate
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing and ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to operate related equipment.
Required:
- Criminal Record Check clearance
- This position requires union membership.
- Must meet immunization requirements in accordance with Ministry of Health and employer policies, and when directed by a medical health officer
