Thunder Bay International Airports Authority Inc. (TBIAA) is seeking a technically skilled and an adaptable individual for the role of Airfield Maintenance Technician (AMT). The successful candidate will report to the Airport Operations Manager.
Teamwork and the ability to make appropriate decisions are critical to the safety and success of this position.
The AMT performs manual work and operates standard and specialized apparatus to provide airport airside & groundside wildlife control, airfield escorting responsibilities, maintenance, and emergency response services.
Basic Requirements for the Position:
B1 – Valid class “DZ” license
B2 – Secondary school diploma, and/or an equivalent combination of relevant education & experience.
B3 – Must be able to read, write and speak English.
Additional Qualifications:
Education:
E1 – Post secondary diploma or training specializing in heavy equipment operation, emergency response or other related specialties would be an asset.
Knowledge of:
K1 – Safety Procedures and Regulations
Job Responsibilities:
R1 - Perform airfield and grounds maintenance duties to support safe and efficient airport operations
R2 - Operate a variety of standard and specialized equipment to complete maintenance, inspection, and operational tasks
R3 - Maintain airfield cleanliness, including debris removal and grass cutting
R4 - Conduct wildlife management and control activities on airside and groundside areas in accordance with airport safety procedures
R5 - Make sound operational decisions in dynamic and time-sensitive situations to support airfield safety

A4 – Ability to perform manual work and operate standardized and specialized equipment
Experience:
