Project Manager – CNC Machining / Purchasing / Technical Coordination
At Larca Custom Machining, we’re growing — and we’re looking to add to our growing Project Management Department.
This role sits at the center of our operation, connecting customers, vendors, purchasing, quoting, and the shop floor to move jobs from RFQ → production → delivery.
This is not a traditional office role. It’s a hands-on, fast-paced position that requires a strong understanding of how machined parts are made — whether that knowledge comes from the shop floor, purchasing, coordination, or technical support.
Who This Role Is Built For
This role can come from a few different backgrounds:
- CNC Machinists ready to step into a broader role
- Purchasing / Buyers working in a machining or manufacturing environment
- Production or Project Coordinators supporting job flow
- Estimating or quoting support roles
- Technical customer service supporting machined or industrial parts
You don’t need to come from all of these — but you do need to understand machining fundamentals and how jobs move through a shop.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
- Reviewing RFQs and supporting technical quoting
- Reading blueprints and helping determine materials and approach
- Sourcing raw materials and working with vendors
- Creating and releasing work orders to the shop
- Communicating with customers on timelines, updates, and questions
- Working closely with machinists and programmers to keep jobs moving
- Tracking multiple jobs at different stages of production
- Getting onto the shop floor to clarify details and solve problems
- Supporting shipping, labeling, and documentation when needed
Your First 30 Days
We don’t expect you to know everything on day one.
In your first month, you will:
- Learn how our jobs flow from RFQ to delivery
- Get familiar with our parts, customers, and processes
- Spend time understanding how the shop operates
- Start supporting quoting, purchasing, and job setup
- Build working relationships with the team
What Success Looks Like in Your First 90 Days
- You’re confidently reading blue prints and contributing to quoting
- You understand how to move a job through our system
- You’ve built trust with the shop floor and know who to go to
- You’re managing smaller jobs independently with support
- You’re communicating clearly with customers and vendors
- You’re identifying potential issues early and helping solve them

Non-Negotiables
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Experience or formal training in a machining, CNC, or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and understand blueprints (or strong foundational training)
- Working knowledge of machining fundamentals
- Experience working with vendors, customers, and production teams
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Clear spoken and written English communication skills
- Purchasing or vendor management experience
- ERP system experience
- Mastercam or CAD/CAM exposure
- Custom/job shop experience
**Candidates without machining or manufacturing exposure will not be considered
