Reporting directly to the Clinical Supervisor for the AMHSP (Academic Medicine and Health Services Program) in the Edmonton Health Corridor, this position provides administrative support to divisional members. Working with a team of administrative support staff in a fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for answering telephones, arranging and coordinating patient clinics, and diagnostic testing. As this position serves as a liaison between patients, physicians and other support services, the incumbent must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills while demonstrating initiative, flexibility and confidentiality.

Required Qualifications:
Some post-secondary education.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in business administration, medical office assistant), or other related fields. Knowledge of medical terminology is required. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an administrative role within a healthcare environment working with physicians. Knowledge and operation of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those with previous experience working as a medical office assistant/secretary. Training and experience with Connect Care, other electronic medical records, NetCare, Dragon, eScription. Familiarity with ATIA & POPA. Progressive experience working in a complex healthcare environment.
