Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine and the art of sushi making. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards for taste and presentation. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety and hygiene.
Duties
- Prepare a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and care.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality by performing regular inventory checks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety standards.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi items or seasonal offerings.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques.
- Monitor food presentation to ensure it meets restaurant standards before serving.
Experience
- Proven experience in the food industry, particularly in sushi preparation or similar roles within a restaurant setting.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential.
- Familiarity with kitchen operations, including meal preparation techniques and equipment usage.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to help others in the kitchen environment.

Pay: $17.60-$23.00 per hour
