Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the Director of Organizational Development, this is a full-time, permanent opportunity that will effectively manage our social enterprise, which helps us grow, create employment opportunities for the people we support and generate revenue to expand our services and programming. In addition, this role will engage with community members, individuals we support, family members, board members, and staff to foster a sense of community and encourage active participation at various events throughout the year.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of community dynamics, be able to navigate complex network of relationships and social norms that have shaped the everyday lives of individuals. This role is relied upon to be proficient and creative in using social media and other digital tools in increasing awareness of Pulford and engagement with the community.
What you will do:

Support community engagement strategies and participation at special events both internally and externally.

Develop and maintain effective relationships with corporate partners, vendors, and community agencies.

Organize and facilitate community engagement by representing the organization at special events, both internally and externally.

Assist in fund development initiatives, including fundraising events like our Pairings with Pulford.

Manage administrative tasks related to fundraising & social enterprise efforts, ensuring timely payments and completion of necessary paperwork.

Manage and demonstrate creativity in area of social enterprise to increase exposure of rentals of giant wooden games and meeting rooms.

Utilize Pulford’s social media platforms and other digital platforms to promote events through posts and videos creating engaging content.

Prepare and distribute various forms of communication.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Create and maintain a calendar for outreach activities, community events, workshops, and appearances.

Provide full administrative assistance to the Director of Organizational Development.
What you will bring:

Post secondary education in marketing/communications, public relations, social work or related field
-
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a related position, including retail/social enterprise, special event and/or community relations experience

Well versed in using social media and digital engagement tools

Demonstrated ability to create engaging online content

Previous experience in organizing/managing events and activities

Strong understanding of community dynamics.

Must be proactive and self-motivated.

Must be organized with exceptional attention to detail and strong time management skills

Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal

Demonstrated team player with exceptional interpersonal skills

Knowledge of local community organizations and stakeholders is an asset

Previous work with non-profit organizations is preferred

Must have a valid Class 5F Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
Working Conditions:

Working in office

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and set up for events

Occasional travel both within city limits and potentially up to approximately 200 km outside of Winnipeg
