L.J. Barton Mechanical Inc. (L.J. Barton) is currently looking for a full-time Electrical Project Manager to join our dynamic team! This is an excellent opportunity for a strong leader and project management professional in the industrial, commercial, institutional and design build industries. Position Overview
The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple projects of various sizes congruently, ensuring project success, profitability and progress.
What You Bring
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in electrical project management.
- Project portfolio that includes experience managing electrical projects in the industrial, commercial, institutional and design build industries.
- Knowledge of Ontario building code, electrical code, and applicable standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
- Experience using Jonas Construction Software is an asset.
- Diploma in engineering, project management, or equivalent is an asset.
- Field experience in an electrical environment strongly desired.
- Proven communication skills through collaboration with all project stakeholders.
- Ability to develop long-lasting relationships with clients, consultants, and team members.
- Demonstrated leadership and motivation with ability to bring a project team together and execute effectively.
- Team-focused with the ability to work independently, prioritizing tasks and managing time to meet competing deadlines.

What You'll Do
Project Management:
- Accountable for the project’s overall execution, budget, and master schedule.
- Ensures work is being executed in compliance with drawings, specifications, quality standards, and Health and Safety policies.
- Fully understands each project’s scope of work, including the plans, specifications, and bid inclusions and exclusions.
- Responsible for financial performance of the project; controls expenses and costs and takes action as required to keep the project on budget.
- Procures equipment and material according to project specifications and to meet the project schedule.
- Creates and maintains project schedules, monitoring progress against established milestones, and identifying and mitigating potential delays.
- Identifies potential project risks, developing mitigation plans, and escalating issues as needed.
- Negotiates and implements change orders and identifies impacts to the contract.
- Maintains close contact with clients, providing regular updates, and managing communication with all stakeholders, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Supports Forepersons – ensures they have what they need to get the job done and helps to remove barriers onsite.
- Reviews and negotiates contracts with subcontractors and suppliers and manages contract administration through the project lifecycle.
- Proactively identifies and resolves project issues, including those related to scheduling, budgeting, quality, and safety.
- Ensures all projects comply with relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards.
- Manages project closeout, ensuring all project documentation is complete and accurate.
Leadership:
- Fosters a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Ensures projects are being managed in adherence to the company’s standards.
- Attends and ensures various project meetings take place (i.e., Award, Start up, Progress, and Close-out).
- Ensures the existence and implementation of company quality control program.
- Ensures preconstruction tasks are executed in a timely manner (i.e., purchase orders, shop drawings, material ordering, etc.).
- Supports adherence to the company Health and Safety program by demonstrated project leadership.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
