Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanic Apprentice to join our team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy and industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in mechanical systems, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work safely in a dynamic environment. Prior dealership experience, familiarity with heavy machinery, and basic mechanical knowledge are highly desirable. This paid apprenticeship provides an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills and advance within the maintenance and repair field.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior mechanic with diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment and trucks
- Learn to interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams for troubleshooting purposes
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, and inspections on industrial equipment
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out repairs under supervision
- Support the assembly and disassembly of mechanical components for repair or replacement
- Operate heavy equipment safely as part of training to gain practical experience in heavy equipment operation
- Participate in safety training sessions and adhere to all safety protocols during maintenance activities
- Assist with electrical repairs and troubleshooting on various machinery as part of skill development
Qualifications
- Prior dealership or mechanic experience is a plus but not required; relevant background in automotive repair or industrial maintenance is beneficial
- Familiarity with Caterpillar machinery and engines, HVAC systems, welding, electrical systems
- Basic mechanical knowledge combined with experience using hand tools, power tools, and schematics
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality workmanship
- Excellent customer service skills are preferred for interacting with team members and clients when necessary
- Willingness to learn new skills related to heavy equipment operation, assembly, and maintenance
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
