Seeking persons with developmental services, CYW or equivalent experience background for a Foster Parent/Live-in Mentor position. You would be responsible for supporting up to two clients. The homes are move-in ready. Excellent tax exempt per-diem.
Foster Parent/Live-in Mentor provides a parenting model for persons in care. Some of the responsibilities include:
- Providing a safe place to live, nourishing meals, appropriate clothing and accommodation
- Providing a warm, nurturing environment with guidance and supervision that responds to the individual needs and ethnic or cultural heritage of the person.
- Participating as a member of a care team – developing and implementing a care plan and sharing in regular communication with the persons family and social worker, as well as other professionals
- Meeting regularly with a social worker – telling them about any changes in the home
- Emotional care, including love and inclusion
- Nurturing of both intellectual and emotional development
- Guidance and supervision
- Positive role modelling
- Facilitate and participate in activities and daily programming
- Be able to schedule and attend all appointment with medical professionals.
- Attend and participate in all plans of care for the service user
- Attend all school meeting and arrange for bussing and other requested activities through the school board as required.
This is a full time 24/7 Live-in position.
The home is provided and move-in ready.
Must have access to a reliable vehicle.
