Field & Forge Brewing Co., in Innisfail, AB is looking to fill a full time Canning Line Operator
This is the perfect opportunity for craft beer enthusiasts with time flexibility to enter the beer industry in an entry level position.
Candidates must be 18 years of age.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all packaging activities in alignment with the established production schedule.
- Operate various packaging equipment, including the canning line, depalletizer, PakTech applicator, date coder, and other related machinery.
- Perform startup, shutdown, format change, and CIP procedures for all packaging systems.
- Prepare bright beer for packaging, including verifying carbonation levels and dissolved oxygen measurements.
- Maintaining overall cleanliness of packaging equipment.
- Organize and stage all required packaging materials in advance of production runs.
- Follow the preventative maintenance program and identify any maintenance needs.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues to maintain steady and efficient packaging operations.
- Keep accurate and thorough production and quality records.
- Conduct quality control checks before and during packaging, such as seam evaluations, DO testing, clarity checks, and sensory assessments.
- Responsible for ensuring the final packaged product meets quality standards.
- Clean and sanitize the production area and cooler to uphold facility cleanliness.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate packaging supplies are available.
- Assist in training new Packaging Operators and Technicians as required.
- Participate in monthly inventory counts for packaging materials.
- Support other duties within the Operations department when needed.
- Provide guidance and support to casual staff working on the packaging line.

- Schedule: Brewing often creates variable schedules each week including long hours.
*Monday - Friday * Punctuality and reliability required *Hours of work for this position sometimes vary, typically 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
- Physically Fit: This position requires long periods of standing and repetitive movements
Physical Requirements:
- Lift 50 lbs from ground
- Climb stairs and ladders
- Work in loud environment with basic safety accommodations
- Labour intensive
- Other duties as assigned
