About Oak Education Oak Education is an online education platform supporting international school students, primarily on IB, AP, and IGCSE pathways, and their families across Canada and Singapore. We provide tutoring, exam preparation, and university and major guidance.
The role We are looking for current university undergraduates to provide online one to one tutoring to school students. This is general, foundational tutoring: building core understanding, study skills, and confidence, and supporting day to day coursework across math, the sciences, English, French, and Spanish. (Senior IB/AP, SAT, and competition exam prep is handled by a separate specialist role.) This is a formal contract role, and you will work flexible hours around your own studies.
What you will do
- Plan and prepare lesson content around each student's curriculum and current performance
- Run engaging one to one online sessions in your subject(s) for elementary, middle, and high school students
- Set and review homework and assignments, and track each student's progress
- Adapt to each student's level and learning style, and keep parents updated
What we are looking for
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree (any year) at a recognized university
- Strong command of the subject(s) you would tutor and a solid academic record
- Clear, confident English; reliable internet, a quiet space, and comfort teaching over video
- Patience and a genuine ability to connect with younger students
Nice to have
- Prior tutoring or classroom teaching experience
- Familiarity with the Canadian curriculum (Ontario and other provinces), and with IB, AP, or IGCSE
- French (for example DELF certification) or conversational Mandarin (helpful when liaising with our families)
